About Me
My name is Munib Rezaie. The question I get most often is "where are you from?" and it's a hard one to answer. I was born in Belgium, but grew up in Brazil, Macau, China, and the United States. I speak English, Portuguese, Spanish, Farsi, and some Chinese -- in that order of decreasing proficiency. Over the last 10 years, I've worked in the field of education as a college professor, school counselor, teacher, student advocate, school administrator and principal. I have a Master's degree in School Counseling and a PhD in Communication. I've presented original research on various topics at over a dozen academic conferences, and always find myself coming back to the topic of masculinity.
Over the years, I've facilitated dozens of group and individual sessions for individuals and groups of all ages -- elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as adults, to talk through issues around gender norms and expectations. I've also published a children's book aimed at providing social emotional learning opportunities around the normalization of crying, especially for young boys.
